Leon Burton Dickens Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born November 20, 1943 in Rolla, Missouri to Garrett and Edna (Ragan) Dickens and passed away, Saturday, April 25, 2026 at the at of 82 years.

He married Donna Nichols. 

He owned and operated many successful businesses over the years such as Forklifts of Cuba and Route 66 Trailer Park.

He had the ability to fix almost anything. If he couldn't fix it, then he could re-build it or build something better. Leon was also a talented cartoonist as well as a proficient drawer. In his younger years, Leon was skilled at building airboats. He also loved to be outdoors going hunting or fishing, especially in Colorado for the big elks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garrett (Edna) Dickens; daughter, Tamela "Tammy" Dickens; siblings, Jimmy (Sharon) Dickens, Carl (Shirley) Dickens, Louie Dickens, Ruby (Floyd) Williams, Helen (Cecil) Brown, Mable (Edwin) Kitchen, Lucille Campbell and Ruth Ann Dickens; sisters-in-law, Beulah Hines, Ann (Russ) Bentley, Flo Bedwell and Willma (James) Carroll; brother-in-law, Rainey (Nadine) Nichols; and parents-in-law, Tom and Geneva (Atchison) Nichols.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Dickens of Cuba, Missouri; son, Leon (Tiffany) Dickens Jr. of Cuba, Missouri; daughter, Sonia Smith; brother, Paul (Geraldine) Dickens; brother-in-law, Gary Campbell of Cuba, Missouri; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Shelby, Lili, Taylea and Treyton Dickens; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba Missouri.

Burial with a graveside service followed at Meramec Hills Memorial Lawn in Cuba, Missouri.
