Louis E. Gorman of St. James, Missouri was born on March 26, 1935 in Rosati, Missouri to Eddie and Margaret Tessaro Gorman and passed away Dec. 15, 2025 at the age of 90 years.

He married Irene Fanger on April 9, 1960 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri.

Louis served with the 23rd Combat Engineers, where he drove a truck transporting explosives. He was a charter member of the VFW in St. James and had a 37-year career with the St. James Utilities. He served on the Board of the Missouri Veterans Home and was a member of the St. James Utilities Board and Cemetery Board.

He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and participated in the Knights of Columbus, often giving his time to support community events like fish fries and bingo.

He enjoyed the outdoors, spending countless hours fishing on the Osage River and Truman Lake and took some Canada fishing trips. Louis also enjoyed deer, squirrel, and Iowa pheasant hunting.

He could be found playing cards and socializing with friends during "Coffee with the Boys" gatherings at McDonald's and Burger King.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Roy Gorman; and brothers-in-law, George Piazza and Jim Ambrose.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; sons, Wayne and wife Terri of Raymore, Missouri and John and wife Vicki of St. James, Missouri; grandchildren, Cassandra Gorman of Wilmington, North Carolina, Caryn Southard and husband Arthur of St. James, Missouri and Caitlyn Gorman of Bismark, North Dakota; brother, Ruddy Gorman of St. James, Missouri; sisters, Vera Piazza of Lake Ozark, Missouri Joyce Ambrose of St. James, Missouri and Sharon Marcus and husband Mike of St. James, Missouri; sister-in-law, Nancy Gorman; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with prayer service held at 5:30 p.m.

Funeral Mass was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, 2025 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri with Father Jason Doke as Celebrant and Erin Bonham, pianist and vocalist.

Burial with full military honors followed at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.

Pallbearers were Paul Piazza, Robert Piazza, David Smith, Dave Ambrose, Arthur Southard and Nathan Kemnitzer.
