Luvondia Darlene (Akers) Burke of Cuba, Missouri was born in Brushy, Missouri on Sunday, Oct. 18, 1942 to Golden "Bud" Akers and Velma (nee Johnston) Akers and passed away Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025 at the age of 83 years, one month and 9 days.

She graduated with the "Class of 1960" from Pacific High School.

On June 4, 1980 she married Leonard Raymond Burke.

Luvondia worked various jobs through the years, but the one she treasured most was her 16 years at Cuba High School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Burke; father, Golden "Bud" Akers; mother, Velma Goff; stepfather, Edgar Goff; brothers, Carmel Akers, James Akers, Vernon Akers and Hershel Akers.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Angela) Jenkins of Sullivan, Missouri, Connie Jenkins of San Antonio, Texas, David Jenkins of Opelousas, Louisiana, Donna Jenkins (Albert Glore) of Steelville, Missouri and Matthew Burke of Sullivan, Missouri; grandchildren, Chelsea (Kamryn) Aghaee of Charleston, West Virginia, Brett (Emma) Simshauser of Clinton, Missouri, Levi (Nicole) Simshauser of St. James, Missouri, Wesley Jenkins of Cuba, Missouri, Shayne Simshauser (Nadeen Sawaged) of Broomfield, Colorado, Andrew Simshauser (Mychaela VanPelt) of Cuba, Missouri; stepson, John Eric Burke (Laura) of Desoto Missouri; great grandchildren, Bruce Simshauser of Clinton, Missouri, Xaiden Simshauser of St. James, Missouri, Henry Simshauser and Oliver Simshauser both of Cuba, Missouri; one sister, Marilyn Brinker of Plano, Texas;  friend and caretaker, Joyce Burke of Leasburg, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.

Interment and graveside service at Brush Creek Cemetery in Gray Summit, Missouri.

Honorary pallbearers were grandchildren, Chelsea Aghaee, Brett Simshauser, Levi Simshauser, Wesley Jenkins, Shayne Simshauser and Andrew Simshauser.

Arrangements under the direction of Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.
