McBride development Phase One approved

Board of Aldermen and Mayor Kevin Copling, on Jan. 14, heard from all the departments that have been working on the McBride development.

Jeremy Roth, senior vice president of land development at McBride Homes, gave a quick update.

“We’ve got our plans approved. We’re moving dirt. We’re installing sewers. Things are going well,” Roth said. “Our sales center is open. Proud to and happy to report that we’ve sold two already.”

Right now, only two of the three different kinds of what Roth referred to as villages that McBride is constructing are for sale. Roth is unsure at what phase the third village will be introduced.

They have two different housing design series at the moment: the Arbor or Bayside series.

“I think the Arbor series has three or four different floor plans. The Bayside series has, I think, eight different floor plans that buyers can select from. And then each one of those floor plans has multiple elevations as well. So different materials on elevations, siding, bricks and stone,” Roth said. “You won’t drive down the street, and it won’t look like one right after the next or the same.”

Cameron Schweiss, Archer-Elgin engineer, and the city’s department heads said that they don’t have a reason why the aldermen shouldn’t approve the Phase One final development plan.

Motion for the Phase One final development plan approval passed with a 5-0 vote. The motion for the Phase One final plat approval was also approved with a 5-0 vote.
