Michael Douglas Elrod of Rolla, Missouri was born on Feb. 1, 1965 in Fairfield, California to Marvin Edgar Elrod and Shirley Ann Stevens and passed away Monday, August 24, 2026 at the age of 61 years.
On August 11, 1990, he married Rebecca Janine Smith in Owosso, Michigan.
Michael dedicated over 25 years as a truck driver for Walmart in Michigan and Missouri going by the handle, “Popeye.” When Mike was home from the road, he enjoyed watching NASCAR while pulling for #3-Dale Earnhardt.
He is survived by his wife, Becky Elrod of Rolla, Missouri; two sons, Timothy Hagan and fiancée Olivia Smith of Rolla, Missouri and Tyler Elrod and fiancée Sachiko Willey of Rolla, Missouri; daughter, Tara Surritte and husband Isaiah of Rolla, Missouri; two brothers, Evert Elrod and wife Tanya of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Howard “Mickey” Elrod of Owosso, Michigan; two sisters, Deeann Biondi and husband Marvin of Owosso, Michigan and Nanette Guay of Kokomo, Indiana; two grandchildren, Kolby Scott and Spencer Surritte; sister-in-law, Ginny Freeman and husband Kevin of Ovid, Michigan; brother-in-law, Chris Lokinski and wife Heather of Clio, Michigan; special friends, Robert and De Hussy of St. James, Missouri and Rob Green of Michigan; other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
