Walkers, rollers, and runners will meet Aug. 6 for the Crawford County Community Walk, sponsored by the University of Missouri Extension.
The event starts at 10 a.m. at the Steelville Community Park Greenway Trail. Organizers recommend that participants bring water, comfortable walking attire and outdoor necessities like hats and sunscreen.
The community walk is part of MU Extension’s statewide “100 days, 100 miles” challenge, a free program that encourages Missourians to stay active by logging 100 miles of physical activity over 100 days.
The program has an online tool for tracking the number of miles completed, and a statewide leaderboard of participants. The program has 611 participants and has logged 50,589 miles so far this year.
