Monte Ray Kleinberg of Stanton, Missouri was born on Oct. 26, 1962 in Roseville, California to Daniel and Donna “Susie” (Lewis) Kleinberg and passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the age of 63 years.
He grew up and attended school in various places in California and in Sullivan, Missouri. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1981 and later attended Rolla Technical Institute, where he earned his certificate in welding.
After completing his training, Monte went to work for CAN-AM before joining the Welder’s Union out of St. Louis, Missouri. He later worked briefly with Aerofil Technologies before beginning a long career with Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital in the maintenance department, where he remained for the rest of his working life. Monte retired from Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital in 2023 after many years of service.
Monte was also a member of the local Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3781.
He loved the outdoors and found joy in hunting, fishing and camping. He also loved working in his garden and took great pride in his yard. In recent years, he had begun to renew his interest in playing guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Kleinberg and Susie Adkison and husband Dannie; brother, Marty Kleinberg; and mother-in-law, Sylvia Thurmond.
He is survived by his wife, Diana; sons, Derick Keller and wife Cassy of Stanton, Missouri and Seth Kleinberg of Sullivan, Missouri; grandsons, Lucas, Cruz and Owen; father-in-law, Jerry Thurmond of Sullivan, Missouri; sister-in-law, Kim Volz and husband Bobby of Bourbon, Missouri; brother-in-law, Jeff Thurmond and wife Peggy of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Services were held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.
Private inurnment took place at Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, Missouri.
