Murell Eugene Tutterrow of Owensville, Missouri was born on May 25, 1937 in Brushy, Missouri to David and Nancy (Fears) Tutterrow and passed away on Saturday, Dec. 20, 2025 at the age of 88 years.
He attended local schools in Piedmont, Missouri and began working at an early age. He worked at Brown Shoe Co. before moving to St. Louis in 1953. He then worked at Chromecraft and then Barnes-Jewish Hospital until his retirement in 2000.
He married Rosella Worley on Nov. 15, 1958. Murell and Rosella lived in various places in Missouri including Lonedell, St. Charles, Arnold and Pevely. In 2000, Murell retired and several years later, they moved to Bloomsdale, Missouri. In 2019, they made their final home in Owensville, Missouri.
He enjoyed the outdoors, whether it was fishing, hunting or tinkering with small engines in his workshop. He was also a talented woodworker. The phrase "Hey Murell, can you fix this?" was a saying his family and friends often asked.
He and Rosella were once members of Berean Missionary Baptist Church in Festus, Missouri and later Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Desoto, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosella; two sons-in-law, Bob Johnson and Bob Johnston; parents; brother, Doyle Tutterrow; and two infant siblings
He is survived by his children, Gene Tutterrow and wife, Debbie of Owensville, Missouri, Cheryl Johnson of Bourbon, Missouri and Cathy Johnston of Blackwell, Missouri; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025 at the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Mark Bryant officiating.
Burial followed at Cave Spring Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
