Okal Laura Nevills of Owensville, Missouri was born March 7, 1932 in Oak Hill, Missouri to Noel and Etta (Blackwell) Shoemaker and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026 at the age of 93 years.
She married Arthur Nevills on Oct. 27, 1951 at Leslie United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Etta; husband, Arthur; sisters, Helen Peth, Opal Lottman, Irene Havener, Ruth Grimme, Iva Butler, Frona Scantlin, Juanita Sachs, Donna Valley and Ida Koehler; and brothers, Gene, John, Joe, Henry and George Shoemaker.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Nevills and wife Susan of Highland Haven, Texas; siblings, Berniece Stephens of Bay, Missouri and Robert Shoemaker and wife Pat of Gerald, Missouri; sister-in-law, IdaMay Sohn of Cuba, Missouri; grandsons, Duawne Nevills and wife Carla of Webster, Texas, Gary Nevills and wife Anita of Staunton, Virginia and Kyle Nevills of Highland Haven, Texas; granddaughter, Wendy Pearson of Marble Falls, Texas; six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.
