The Cuba Parks and Recreation Board on Aug. 11 discussed improving the grounds and municipal pool.
Board member Roslind Reiner readdressed the tree in Mapleshade Park that has a large dead limb hanging over the road. She also mentioned that part of the fence needs to be power-washed.
“One area of the fence looks really rough,” Reiner said.
A motion to remove the tree limb, as well as a motion to power-wash the fence, was approved with a 6-0 vote.
Board President Chris Kight said that the Tangle Creek playground area needs signage that says “no smoking, eating or drinking inside and around the play area.”
A motion to recommend purchasing these signs was approved with a 6-0 vote.
Kight also said that Labor Day will be the last day the city municipal pool is open. After the pool closes, he said the city’s bylaws require them to review and revamp the aquatics manual and they need to create an emergency plan.
The next meeting is at 6 p.m. on Sept. 8 in the City Hall meeting room.
