Randy Joe Baker of Cuba, Missouri was born on July 23, 1959 in Rolla, Missouri to Roy E. “Joe” and Norma L. (Counts) Baker and passed away Dec. 1, 2025 at the age of 66 years.
On September 17, 1983, he married Rita Oellermann at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
Randy was a graduate of the Cuba High School Class of 1977.
He worked at Peterson Oil Company, Fidelity, MoDOT, and most recently, MFA Oil.
He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri.
Randy enjoyed spending time with his dachshund Wally, farming, tinkering and enjoying the company of friends and family.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rita Baker; son, Bruce Baker (Meagan Johnson) of Cuba, Missouri; granddaughter, Delilah Cowsert; sisters-in-law, Sr. Rosemary Oellermann of Perryville, Missouri and Ruth (Julian) Pritchard of Pacific, Missouri; brother-in-law, Roy (Kara) Oellermann Jr. of Carbondale, Illinois; aunts and uncles, Wilma Jean Chastain of Clever, Missouri, Betty Baker of Hurley, Missouri, Dale (Sandy) Counts of Ironton, Missouri, Charles (Miriam) Counts of Ironton, Missouri, Jeanette (Paul) Juergens of Sullivan, Missouri, Sharon (Bruce) Maesan of Bonne Terre, Missouri and Glenna Goodman of Park Hills, Missouri; other relative and friends.
Prayer service was held at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025 followed by visitation from 5-8 p.m. at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was held at noon Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri with Father Mark Smith serving as the celebrant and Father James Finder as the concelebrant.
After the service, Randy’s cremated remains were inurned in the Columbarium at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Following the funeral, a luncheon was hosted at the Baker home.
