Resignation

Posted

After much thought and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to resign from my position as Executive Director of the St. James Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Information Center.

Serving this organization and community for the past five years has been one of the greatest privileges of my professional career. When I accepted this role, I knew it would be an opportunity to support our local businesses, promote tourism, and help strengthen the community I care deeply about. What I could not have anticipated was just how rewarding that journey would become.

Together, we have accomplished so much. We have strengthened the Chamber's presence through a new logo, website, marketing materials, expanded social media outreach, and a vibrant community calendar. We have grown membership, created new networking opportunities, enhanced tourism promotion, and elevated the quality and visibility of community events. From Sip ‘n Savor and the Grape & Fall Festival to opening Fishing Day, Fourth of July Fireworks, Bob Wilson Memorial Golf Tournament and the Christmas Parade on the event side, To downtown revitalization, economic growth north of town and beyond.  It has been a privilege to tell the stories of our town and help showcase everything that makes St. James special.

What I am most proud of, however, is not any single project or event. I have had the privilege of working alongside dedicated business owners, volunteers, elected officials, community organizations, and Chamber members who genuinely care about the future of St. James. Your passion, generosity, and willingness to invest in this community are what make our successes possible.

I am especially grateful for the Chamber Board of Directors, past and present, for their leadership, guidance, and support. I am also thankful for the countless volunteers and sponsors who have contributed their time, resources, and talents to help our events and programs thrive.

While it is bittersweet to step away, I do so with immense pride in what has been accomplished and great optimism for what lies ahead. St. James continues to experience growth, investment, and opportunity.

Thank you for your trust, your support, and the friendships that have been formed along the way. It has truly been an honor to serve this community. I will always be grateful for my time with the St. James Chamber of Commerce and Tourist Information Center and will continue cheering for the success of our businesses and community for years to come.  I will be in this position until July 31 and complete our chamber luncheon on June 18, The 4th of July Fireworks show & The Bob Wilson Memorial Golf tournament that will help fund the GFF carnival wristbands for kids.  Our Chamber board will be posting the position next week and will look for nominations and recommendations.

With gratitude,

Kelly Money
