Revolutionary War

Posted

This is my last letter about the Revolutionary Ward unless someone asks questions or makes falsities.

Actually in my mind the whole matter is very simple. Just read Matt. 5-7, Rom. 12-13 and 1 Pet. 2 and compare it to the Revolution which caused thousands of deaths, and you have it. And if you don't have it, I question your understanding of Christianity. To me it is that simple.

Also, think of the fact that on the fourth of July every year our nation celebrates what I have come to call The Big Steal, when our founders, who claimed to be Christians, signed a Declaration of Independence that stole the 13 colonies from England. That by itself was a tremendous sin, and got the whole mess officially started.

I've said it before and will say it again, that I believe that those who did the Revolution went to Hell unless they repented to Jesus as Savior and Lord, and all agreeing with them will go also – especially Pastors who lead their flock to agree.

By the way, according to Google, only one third of the colonists were actually for the war, one third against and one third neutral.

Also, I hesitate to be critical of our founders, for in many ways they were great men and women, however, I believe they simply made the mistake we are all capable of making, namely, not checking out their desires and wills with God's Word – the Bible.

Disagreements are welcome.
