Richard M. “Rich” Thompson of Cuba, Missouri was born on Jan. 31, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at the age of 65 years.
He married Becky A. Corzine on March 3, 1979 in Jennings, Missouri.
Rich owned and operated Certa Care Carpet Cleaning in St. Louis, Missouri from 1979 until 2015. Following that, he partnered with his son Ryan to run the Fanning Feed Store.
He enjoyed family fishing trips to Beaver Lake in Rodgers, Arkansas, golfing, bowling, classic John Wayne Movies, Elvis’s music and Joel Osteen’s services. He also enjoyed relaxing on his tractor, dining out or taking long drives with Becky.
He and Becky were attendees of the House of Prayer in Corning, Arkansas.
He loved engaging in discussions about politics.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Thompson and Joyce Ann (Burris) Morgan; brother, Tommy Morgan; and parents-in-law, Billie and Dorothy Corzine.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Becky A. Thompson of Cuba, Missouri; three sons, Ryan and Billy Thompson of Cuba, Missouri and Daniel Thompson of Union, Missouri; grandsons, Ryan, Billie and Owen Thompson; two brothers, Robert Leroy Sanders of Florissant, Missouri and Alan Dean Gordon of Festus, Missouri; two sisters, Debbie McCallister of Windsor, South Carolina and Sheila Leonard of Kansas City, Kansas; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Carmon McMasters officiating.
In keeping with his wishes, Rich was cremated following the visitation and service.
