The St. James High track season got rolling in earnest with action in the Linn Invitational Monday, April 6.
The Lady Tigers finished third in the team standings with 84 points while the St. James boys were seventh at 53.
Harrisburg won the girls’ team title in the 15-school field with 113 points while New Bloomfield was the boys’ champ with 108.
For the Lady Tigers:
Junior Adalee Richardson had a perfect day, capturing first place in all four of her events. She won the 100-meter dash at :12.69; the 200-meter dash at :26.40; the 300-meter hurdles at :49.13, and ran a leg on the winning 4x100-meter relay squad, along with Madalynn McCracken, Avery Campbell and Alex Hughes, at :51.38.
Hughes placed second in the triple jump at 33-4 3/4. Lady Tiger third places came from Katherine Strackeljahn in both the 1,600-meter run at 6:30.48 and the 3,200-meter run at 13:45.99.
For the St. James boys:
Ashton Moreland captured the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:36.81.
The Tiger 4x800-meter squad of Johnny Perkins, Kylar Hodge, Moreland and Ryder Byfield was second at 8:54.83. Tigers taking third place were Mitchell Dekock in the shot put at 36-10 and Whitten Woessner in the long jump at 18-6.
This week St. James was scheduled to compete in the Union Invitational Tuesday, the Cuba Invitational Thursday and the Owensville Relays Friday.
