Two members of the St. James High School girls’ golf squad advanced to the Missouri Class 2 State Tournament through their performance at the District 1 Tournament, held Monday, Oct. 12 at Wolf Hollow Golf Course in Labadie.

Freshman Hallie Kleffner and senior Jolie Roark are the Lady Tigers who qualified for state. Kleffner finished 11th overall at the district meet, shooting 22-over-par 93, while Roark tied for 13th with 98.

The top two teams and top 12 individuals plus ties move on to the Missouri Class 2 State Tournament, to be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 19-20 at Bogey Creek Golf Club in Farmington.

St. Francis Borgia won the District 1 team championship with 384 while Lutheran St. Charles earned the other team qualification by being runner-up with 389. St. James finished sixth in the team standings with 430.

Sara Kolar of Maplewood-Richmond Heights was individual medalist, shooting 72.
