Robert H. “Bob” Sherman of Bourbon, Missouri was born on June 11, 1941 in Sullivan, Missouri to Carl and Grace (Garner) Sherman and passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at the age of 85 years.
He grew up and attended school in Sullivan, where he was an accomplished athlete, especially in basketball. He was recognized as an All-District, All-Conference, and All-State player.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He worked at the Meramec Mines before serving as a roadway trucking foreman and later as an operations manager for a motor freight company. Bob then worked as a business manager for nursing homes in Fairbanks and Anchorage, Alaska. Eventually, he returned to Missouri and owned and operated his own real estate company, 3 River Farm and Land Company, until his retirement.
Later in life, Bob began attending services at Bourbon First Assembly of God. He traveled on mission trips to Mexico, where he helped build churches and serve others.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Brandon Sherman and Roger Loewen; and two brothers, Donald Sherman and wife Shirley and Kenneth Sherman.
He is survived by five children, Robert “Todd” Sherman of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Shelley Newman and husband Alan, of Broomfield, Colorado, Tyson Sherman and wife Sabrina of Washington, Missouri, Clayton Sherman of Rolla, Missouri and Ryan Parnell of Bourbon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Ryan Loewen, Melissa Landry and husband Ryan, Alek Newman, Ryan Newman, Madison Sherman, Tyson “Brady” Sherman, Clayton “Nicholas” Sherman and Madison Parnell; three great grandchildren with one on the way; daughter-in-law, Valerie Loewen; special cousin and best friend, Randy Bacon of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at noon on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Harold Harrison officiating.
Interment followed at Argo Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
