Roy “Gene” Pippin of Bourbon, Missouri was born on March 22, 1953 in Odessa, Texas to Charles and Lucille (Hillhouse) Pippin and passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026 at the age of 73 years.

He grew up on his family’s farm near Stoutland, Missouri. He graduated from Stoutland High School with the Class of 1971 before attending Denver Automotive and Diesel College, where he earned his degree in automotive mechanics.

Gene married Norma Phillips on May 4, 1973.

He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for nearly 10 years and then as a truck driver. First, hauling cattle and later freight from coast to coast. In the early 80’s, he began a long career as an electrical lineman – learning the trade from the ground up. In 1985, Gene and Norma moved to Bourbon and Gene began a career with Crawford Electric, serving as a lineman, crew foreman and eventually as a serviceman before retiring in 2017.

Gene loved the outdoors and spending time at Table Rock Lake in Kimberling City. They enjoyed boating, relaxing by the water and making memories with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lucille Pippin; brother, Jack Pippin; sister, Judy Milligan; nephew, Mark Pippin; and in-laws, Perry and Georgia Phillips.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Norma Pippin of Bourbon, Missouri; two daughters, Holly Crump (Chris) and Robyn Pippin (Kyle Kasmann) both of Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren, Kyler Crump, Kaeden Crump, Elli Crump, Tyler Kasmann (Trinitee), Ryker Kasmann and Kylan Kasmann; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

Remembrance Memorial Service was held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Lanny Witt officiating.
