Ruth Jean Adams of Cuba, Missouri and formerly of Steelville, Missouri was born on Sunday, March 31, 1968 in Sullivan, Missouri to James Junior Adams and Gerelean (nee King) Smith and passed away Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2025 at the age of 57 years, 7 months and 26 days.
Ruth graduated from Steelville High School in the Class of 1986. She excelled in math and went on to Tulsa University where she acquired the skills to run her own accounting business, Ruth’s Rapid Accounting.
She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, loved sunflowers, lilies and the color red.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Adams; siblings, Jimmy Adams, Jane Adams, Patricia Adams and Linda Luther.
Ruth is survived by her mother, Gerelean Smith of Steelville, Missouri; sons, Steven Brumley of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Kaden Bayless of Sullivan, Missouri; two grandchildren, Matilda Brumley and Malachi Brumley; siblings, Gary Adams of New Mexico, Lorretta Alberts and Pamala Kasten both of Joliet, Illinois, Lois Olliges of Granite City, Illinois, Wilford Whobrey and Norma Whobrey both of St. Louis, Missouri, Patrick Adams, Jeff Adams and Kenneth Adams all of Steelville, Missouri and Geraldine Mendoza of Thayer, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
Burial at Steelville Cemetery.
