Sandra Jean Alsop of Villa Ridge, Missouri was born on Jan. 31, 1955 to James Eldon and Della Mae (Heady) Evans and passed away on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026 at the age of 70 years.

She grew up and attended local schools in St. Louis, Missouri. 

She married Warren Lee Combs.

In 1985, the family moved to Cuba, Missouri and in 1988 she and Warren purchased and successfully operated Combs Residential until 1998. They then built and opened the Kum-N-Get It Buffet, a venture she sold in 2001.

On July 3, 2002, she married Mark Alsop.

She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and office manager for a Home Health care service until her retirement in 2018. 

She was a member of the Midland Pentecostal Assembly Church in Steelville, Missouri.

She enjoyed her pets, Richie and Zero. In her leisure time, Sandy was a gifted cook. She spent hours creating culinary delights and enjoying cooking shows.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Eldon and Della Mae Evans; and three brothers, James “Randy” Evans, Danny Evans and Wayne Evans.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Alsop of Villa Ridge, Missouri; two children, Warren Combs of Steelville, Missouri and Dawne Shaw and husband Anthony of Lenox, Missouri; seven  grandchildren, Dakota Schroeder (Brianna Hollister) of Sullivan, Missouri, Jessica Veloz (Dylan Warfield) of Steelville, Missouri, MacKayla Minx and husband Kaleb of Rolla, Missouri, Kameron Veloz (Madison Alexander) of Wentzville, Missouri, Kiara, Dennis and Hunter Shaw all of St. James, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Aubreey, Brayden, Liam, Aurora, Zion, Carson, Baker, and a baby boy soon to be born; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Evangelist Ronnie Raven officiating.

Burial in Red Brick Church Cemetery in Rosebud, Missouri.
