My name is Rachel Martin, and I have had the pleasure of serving on the Steelville R-III board of education for the past three years. During that time, I served as our board’s Missouri School Boards’ Association representative for two years and as executive secretary for one year. Serving on the board has given me a deeper appreciation for the work our district does each day to support students and staff. If re-elected, I am committed to continuing to grow as a board member so that I can be a strong voice for our students and community.
I am a proud Steelville school alumna and grateful for the well-rounded education I received. That foundation helped me to earn a bachelor’s degree from MSSU and my doctorate from Creighton University. I currently work as a clinical pharmacist at Missouri Baptist Sullivan.
My husband is an insurance agent in Steelville and drives a school bus route for the district. We have four children- two are alumni of Steelville schools, one currently attends, and our youngest has special educational needs. As a family, we believe in being involved and serving in our community whenever we can.
Many of my family and friends work in our district, and I see firsthand the dedication they bring to helping our students succeed. Supporting and attracting excellent staff is essential so that every Steelville student receives the best education possible.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve our district. I would be grateful for your continued support.
