Separate crashes result in minor injuries in Steelville

A 60-year-old Steelville man was moderately injured at 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 5 in a single-vehicle crash,

According to the report, the driver was operating a 1999 Acura TL traveling southbound on Highway 19, three miles south of Steelville, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned. 

The motorist was listed as having no insurance and transported by EMS to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.

The vehicle was listed as totaled. 

Trooper M.T. Baird investigated the incident, assisted by Master Sergeant J.R. McCurdy. 

The vehicle was towed by Miles and Son’s Towing. 

A 2024 Dodge Durango was totaled at 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 7 when the owner, a 23-year-old male from Bourbon, failed to negotiate a curve. 

The motorist was going southbound on Highway JJ at Libby Lane and traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. 

The driver sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Missouri Baptist Hospital by North Crawford Ambulance. It is unclear if the driver had insurance. 

Trooper M.T. Baird investigated the incident, assisted by Trooper G.W. Picard and the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office. 

The vehicle was towed by Chuck’s Towing. 

A 19-year-old Cuba man was moderately injured on Nov. 12 in a single-vehicle collision when his 2024 Honda motorcycle hit the curb in a parking lot, lost control, and overturned. 

The motorist was traveling southbound at 8:35 p.m. on 81 Merrihills Drive when the incident occurred. The scene was secured at the Church of Christ. 

The owner of the motorcycle was transported by Missouri Baptist Hospital by the North Crawford Ambulance District. 

Damage to the motorcycle was minor. The incident was investigated by Trooper G.W. Picard of Troop I and assisted by Master Sergeant J.R. McCurdy and Trooper M.T. Baird.
