Sheila Elaine (Callahan) Simpson of Cuba, Missouri was born Nov. 14, 1965 in Cuba, Missouri to Landis and Alva (Conaway) Callahan and passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at the age of 60 years.
She married Dennis "Buck" Lee Simpson Sr. on Oct. 5, 2003.
She worked as a CNA for many years at Gibbs Care Center and other facilities in the area.
She wrote beautiful poems as well as songs, when she wasn't creating her own art. She loved listening to all kinds of music while dancing along with her daughters. She also had a knack for crafting, gardening and caring for her flowers. Her favorite flowers were carnations and roses. She was also a family historian having picked up genealogy as a hobby.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Landis (Alva) Callahan; husband, Dennis "Buck" Lee Simpson Sr.; siblings, Sylvia (Raymond) Stroup, Samuel (Lillie) Callahan, Sondra Veach and infant sister, Fern Callahan; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Don Nickelson, Lindell Thompson, Charles Brown and Gerald Reed.
She is survived by two daughters, Brandee O'Neail-Hurst of Cuba, Missouri and Jennifer O'Neail of Salem, Missouri; brothers and sisters, Anita Bridgeman of Steelville, Missouri, Cathy Brown of Cherryville, Missouri, Sharon (Emery) Harmon of Steelville, Missouri, Steve Callahan of Viburnum, Missouri and Patricia Reed of Washington, Missouri; brother-in-law, Johnny Veach of Steelville, Missouri; grandchildren, Dyllyon O'Neail of Cuba, Missouri, Anna (Dawson) Sullins of Licking, Missouri, Sierra (Jesse) Bogle of Cuba, Missouri, Marianna Hurst of Cuba, Missouri, Steven McMillen of Cuba, Missouri, Whitley Licklider of Cuba, Missouri, Austin Licklider of Farmington, Missouri and Zachariah Taylor of Salem, Missouri; great grandchildren, Emylyn Bogle, Octavia Bogle, Jesey Bogle and Zoey Sullins; special niece, Stephanie (Kevin) Calvert of St. Clair, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Harrison Brown officiating.
Interment and graveside service followed at the Martin-Trask Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri.
