Shirley G. (nee Skaggs) Shaw was born on Jan. 1, 1950 in Rockford, Illinois and passed away June 20, 2026 at the age of 76 years.
She served in the United States Army Reserves for 23 years.
She married Carl "Shorty" Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Valley, Judi and Arlene.
She is survived by children, Michael Shaw of Gerald, Missouri, Timothy Arthur (Emily) of Rolla, Missouri and Mickey Arthur (Brittney Gillean) of Greenville, Indiana; brother, Frankie Skaggs (Vickie) of Owensville, Missouri; sisters, Charleen Skaggs of Owensville, Missouri, Mediodeo Inkie of Bland, Missouri, Brenda Curtis of Owensville, Missouri and Roberta Standfield of Union, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Burial of her ashes will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.
