Happy New Year to everyone. Hope everyone had a great Christmas and a safe
New Year. Sorry there hasn't been any Sligo News lately. Mel and I both have been
sick and I haven't been able to write anything. I had a bad cough for about two weeks and Mel
was in the hospital with mini strokes. We are both doing okay now so maybe I can get back to
my writing.

The community people are doing well. They were all concerned about us and called checking on us.
We had a great Christmas with our kids and their families. Tam and Trey stayed down for a few days.
Tam and Trey came back down for New Year, and she took me to the hospital to see what was wrong with me. I am sure glad they were here.

Mel was feeding the calves in the feed lot and when he got done, he started back to the truck and fell headfirst in the gravel and really did a number on the left side of his face. I took him to the hospital
and they did a cat scan on him and said he didn't have a fracture or concussion. They couldn't put stitches in because of where it was at, so they had to glue it up. He sure has a big black eye and bruises on his face but is doing better now. The doctor said it will look worse before it is over.

Mike and Karen have been here on the weekends, and Mike has been staying down during the week
taking care of the cattle. With the weather turning cold I am sure glad he is here.

New Year's Day we had Ronnie and Kathy over for dinner. Karen and Mike were here also
and Karen fixed hot wings in her air fryer. They sure were good. We enjoyed the visit with them.
