It's a beautiful fall day here in Sligo. It is 62 degrees out after waking up to 32 degrees.
Last week end we had about three inches of rain here in Sligo. We had our Harvest Moon event but wasn't able to have the hayrides. We had about 32 to show up for the chili dinner and pie auction. Kathy Summers was here with her music, and everyone enjoyed that very much. We did very well on the pie and cake auction.
Sunday afternoon Viburnum Methodist Church had a gospel special singing, but we didn't get to go because of having company. People that went said it was really good.
This week has really been busy for us with doctor appointments and having our dogs groomed. We didn't make it to bible study and missed it very much. Wednesday evening, we went out to dinner at Regina's with a couple of friends and met up with another couple that we knew. Had a very good dinner and visiting with them.
This Saturday, October 25 we are going to the Meramec Theatre at Steelville to see Rhonda Vincent and the Rage. My nephew Ivan and his wife Sheila are bringing some friends from out of town and meeting us there. We are all going out to dinner afterwards. It should be a lot of fun.
The community is doing really well. The rain sure helped the pastures, but we really need more. There is still some that need our prayers, so, remember the Sligo community in your prayers.
God bless America and remember our troops and their families. Please continue to pray for country and our leaders.
