St. James Chamber Launches Annual Veterans Honor Walk to Support Local Heroes

Posted

The St. James Chamber of Commerce would like to invite the community to participate in the annual Veterans Honor Walk at the St. James Tourist Information Center. It's a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have served in our nation’s military.

Beginning Friday, October 10, and continuing through Veterans Day, November 11, the Chamber will once again fill the lawn with hundreds of American flags – each one representing a veteran honored by family, friends, or community members.

For a $5 donation, individuals can purchase a flag in honor or memory of a veteran. Each flag will be accompanied by a personalized tag featuring the veteran’s name and branch of service, proudly displayed along the walking path for all to see. Flags can be purchased with a credit card for $5.50 each. If paying cash, it's $5.

“Every flag tells a story," said Kelly Money, Chamber Director. “Last year, nearly 200 flags lined our lawn – it was a beautiful and moving display of gratitude from our community. We hope to fill the grounds even more this year.”

All proceeds from the Veterans Honor Walk benefit the Missouri Veterans League, which supports the Missouri Veterans Home and provides assistance to veterans across the region.

Flags may be purchased at the St. James Chamber of Commerce Tourist Center, located at 100 State Route B. Community members are encouraged to stop by throughout the month to walk among the flags and reflect on the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans.

Join us as we honor those who have served — one flag, one story, one hero at a time.
