In a world that often feels fast-paced and disconnected, one local volunteer is making a difference through simple acts of kindness – St. James Senior Center November Volunteer of the Month Cindy Dierkes.
Whether she’s bagging groceries for families in need or serving warm meals at community events, her dedication to helping others is rooted in a deep sense of purpose and joy.
“I choose to volunteer because helping others fills my heart with purpose and joy,” she shared. “Whether I’m bagging food or serving meals, I feel grateful to be part of something that brings comfort and hope to others. Giving my time reminds me how powerful kindness can be.”
Her commitment to service is matched by a rich personal life filled with creativity and love. When she’s not volunteering, she enjoys crafting, tending to her garden, and cherishing time with her grandchildren. “They bring so much happiness to my life and inspire me to keep giving and creating wherever I can,” she said.
Her story is a reminder that compassion, creativity, and community spirit can transform lives—one act of kindness at a time.
