St. James Partnership announced

The St. James Chamber of Commerce, the City of St. James, and the City’s Parks & Recreation Department are pleased to announce a new collaborative partnership for the future of the Grape & Fall Festival. After many years of leading the event the Chamber has asked the City and Parks & Recreation Department to take on a larger role in festival operations. Beginning in 2026, the festival will transition into a shared leadership model between the city and the Chamber.

Under this new structure, the Chamber will continue to manage key downtown components of the festival, while the City and Parks & Recreation will assume responsibility for activities and operations at Nelson Hart Park. This partnership is designed to preserve the festival’s longstanding traditions while strengthening its sustainability for years to come.

“This partnership allows us to build on the festival’s legacy and strengthen it with shared leadership and community involvement,” said representatives from the city and the Chamber. “The Grape & Fall Festival is an important part of life in St. James and working together ensures its traditions remain strong as we plan for a sustainable future.”

Under the New Structure:

• The St. James Chamber of Commerce will continue to play a lead role in fundraising and will

oversee the Parade and the Downtown Vendor Fair.

• The City of St. James and Parks & Recreation Department will oversee park-related

activities at Nelson Hart Park, including infrastructure, organization, and operational support.

• Youth and agricultural partners, such as FFA and 4-H, will remain deeply involved, helping

shape contests, exhibitions, and family-friendly programming.

First celebrated in 1932 to honor the local grape harvest and showcase the community’s first Queen Pageant, the Grape & Fall Festival has grown into a beloved St. James tradition. Over the decades, it has expanded into a multi-day celebration highlighting local agriculture, youth organizations, small businesses, and events throughout town, including parades, street markets, carnivals, games, shows, food vendors, a wine & beer garden, and more.

The 93rd Annual Grape & Fall Festival is scheduled for September 10–12, 2026. Additional details, including volunteer opportunities and event information, will be announced in the coming months.
