St. James residents north of the Missouri Pacific Railroad within the city limits remained under a boil advisory on Nov. 3 following an Oct. 31 water main break on East St. James Boulevard. According to updates on the City of St. James, Missouri Facebook page, results from a water sample taken after repairs were made at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 31 have not yet returned. The city reassures citizens that it will notify them as soon as the advisory is lifted.
The final correspondence to the public was made at 8:05 a.m. on Nov. 2, with reassurances that the city is still waiting on results.
“As soon as we receive the results, we will notify everyone immediately through text alerts and a note on the Facebook page,” a city official wrote.
The city of St. James has a City and Utility Text Alert system that can be joined by sending a message to STJAMES (91896) to opt in. Those who subscribe to the system will receive notifications about boil orders, power outages, road closures, inclement weather and important city information.
A noon call to the St. James Public Works Department for more information about the boil order and results was not returned by The Saint James Press’s deadline, nor had the advisory been lifted.
