Susie Edge of Bourbon, Missouri was born on Jan. 25, 1948 to Pearl and Al Toland and passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the age of 78 years.

She was raised in Bourbon, Missouri and graduated from Bourbon High School. Following graduation, she worked at Town and Country Supermarket for more than 20 years and worked her way into management. She later followed her colleague, Gary Reed, to Dirt Cheap.

On Feb. 29, 1996, Susie married Travis Edge at Crossroads Baptist Church in Leasburg, Missouri.

Susie was a fantastic cook, and family and friends always looked forward to her lasagna. She enjoyed gardening, whether she was growing vegetables or tending to her flowers. She loved her pets and especially enjoyed spending time riding horses with Travis.

She was a devoted Neil Diamond fan and loved to read, especially the books of Stephen King. She enjoyed painting wildlife and horses, fishing anywhere she could find a place to drop a line and watching crime shows. She was an avid supporter of President Trump. Purple was her favorite color.

She attended services at Leasburg Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Travis; son, Mike Nye; granddaughter, Ashlea Kitchen; great grandchild, Bennett Kitchen; parents, Al and Pearl Toland; and son-in-law, Jeffrey Slankard.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Nye and wife Wendy of Sullivan, Missouri, Tiffany Gamblin and husband Travis of Cuba, Missouri and Heather Slankard of Bourbon, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Felicia Stites and husband Coty, Mark Kitchen and wife Billie Jean, Ryan Kitchen and wife Ciara, Jacob Kitchen and wife Tiffany, Mason Sparks and husband Evan, Adrianna and husband Ethan Guehne, Ariella Slankard, Alexis Bacon and husband Heath, Logan Slankard, Jeffrey Slankard, Stephanie Blankenship and husband Dewey and Kristopher Nye and wife Sheri; 23 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
