T. J. Luger was born on March 26, 1978, in Rockford, Minnesota and passed away on August 22, 2026 at the age of 48 years.
For more than 20 years, T. J. worked as a truck driver, most recently with Manchester Packaging in St. James, Missouri.
He was deeply drawn to mud racing and motor sports, and he had also begun enjoying R.C. racing with his son, Lance.
T. J. was raised by his grandmother, who lovingly called him “my sunshine.” When he was six years old, he was involved in a terrible car accident while traveling to Yellowstone with his grandfather and grandmother. All three were thrown from the car, and his grandmother was left paralyzed. In the difficult days that followed, her “sunshine” helped her recover.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Elizabeth Chambers Luger of St. James, Missouri; son, Lance Alan Luger of St. James; twin daughters, Rachel Nicole Luger and Layna Elizabeth Luger, both of St. James, Missouri; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gary and Ronda Chambers of St. James, Missouri; father, T.J. Luger and wife Tyene of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother, Lisa Wilson-Hardy and husband Mike Proffer of Cuba, Missouri; brothers, Brian Luger and Jacob Hardy; sisters, Brianna Hardy, Krista Hardy, Kristen Luger and Nicole Luger; other relatives and friends.
