Tammy Jo (nee Curry) Gaddis of Steelville, Missouri was born on Monday, July 15, 1968 in Conroe, Texas to Douglas Leon Curry and Shirley Jo (nee Hightower) Curry and passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025 at the age of 57 years, 3 months and 8 days.
She attended Conroe High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1986.
On August 20, 1994, she married James William Gaddis in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tammy was the co-owner and office manager of Garrison’s Campground from 1999-2022 and also worked as a bank teller for Peoples Bank in Cuba, Missouri.
Tammy accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, had attended Steelville First Assembly of God and was actively involved in the Phelps County Cowboy Church. She contributed to various outreach ministries such as the food pantry, women’s outreach and children’s ministry.
Tammy was an outdoors enthusiast and enjoyed traveling, camping, hiking, and kayaking. One of her greatest joys was visiting family in Texas.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Donald “Donnie” Gaddis.
Tammy is survived by her husband of 31 years, James “Jim” Gaddis of Steelville, Missouri; three children, Erin Gaddis of Waxahachie, Texas, James Gaddis II and Samuel Gaddis both of Steelville, Missouri; parents, Doug and Shirley Curry of Conroe, Texas; parents-in-law, Don and Mary Gaddis of Steelville, Missouri; brother, Bobby and wife Shelle Curry of Conroe, Texas; sisters, Cathy and husband David Shirley and Cindy Camacho all of Conroe, Texas; sisters-in-law, Becky and husband Eddie Karban of Valley City, Ohio and Deb Gaddis of New Mexico; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the Assembly of God Church in Steelville, Missouri.
Burial was at Liberty Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
