Teresa Louise Cure

Teresa Louise (nee Durbin) Cure, formerly of St. James, Missouri, was born on Aug. 14, 1946 in Decatur, Illinois to Stephen Ralph Durbin II and Eileen Lanoix (nee Bell) Durbin Ayers passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026 at the age of 79 years.

She cared for her younger siblings while her mother worked to provide food and an apartment for the family. Working together, the family was able to rent an apartment owned by their great-aunt, Velma Bell Peterman at the Alasta Gas Station for $25.

Some of her greatest memories were family reunions with all the Bells at Steelville, Missouri at Wildwood Lodge.

In later years, she attended school in Kansas City, Missouri and became a licensed registered nurse. She worked at several hospitals in the Kansas City area.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bobby Cure; brothers, Stephen Durbin III and Frank Durbin; sister, Verna Iklil; and nephews, Jere Durbin and Travis Durbin.

She is survived by her Kansas City family; brother, Ronald Durbin and wife Aina of Rolla, Missouri; sister, Judi Schanta and husband Michael of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held from 10-10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Graveside service followed at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at Asher Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
