Terry McGinnis of St. Louis, Missouri was born on Nov. 4, 1935 to Hugh and Nellie (nee Halbert) McGinnis and passed away Feb. 13, 2026 at the age of 90 years.
The family moved to Steelville, Missouri where Terry attended Steelville public schools.
He loved his dogs Jeff, Butchey and Nancy and raised a variety of game chickens and silkies.
Terry moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he began a career in dental supply and equipment sales at Thau Nolde.
He married Mary Grace Barry.
Terry and Mary attended St. Thomas the Apostle. They joined various prayer/bible study groups, retreats and service activities. He later attended St. Rose Philippine Duchesne. When he retired they moved to South County and joined St. Justin Martyr Parish. He and his wife went to daily mass and met an additional group of friends at the local Panera where they ate afterwards.
He was an avid gardener and tropical fish aficionado. He designed and cultivated a beautiful garden of plants, flowers and vegetables for which he appeared in the local newspaper as Gardener of the Month.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents; and six siblings, Geraldine Buckner (Edd), Denver McGinnis, Hugh McGinnis, Albert McGinnis (Vernell), Ruth Klobe (Lee) and Mary Pappalardo (Carlos).
He is survived by his wife, Mary (nee Barry) McGinnis; sons, John McGinnis (Wanda), Thomas McGinnis and Stephen McGinnis (Catherine); daughters, Susan Farel and Ruth Farel (Michael); 15 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9-10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026 at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
Funeral mass was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, 2026 at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
Interment in the Resurrection Cemetery. A luncheon was held at church following the burial.
