Noah Coleman NSDAR met Saturday, March 14 at Colton’s in Rolla.
Greg Doolin from The Freedom 13, a non-profit organization who has a goal of building a camp of 13 homes in each state for a time of vacation and respite for veterans and first responders, was the speaker. The parents of Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz, who lost his life in Abbie Gate, started this organization in honor of him and others lost on that tragic day. Their goal is open camps for veterans and their families in all 50 United States. The first camp will be opened in Bourbon, Missouri, which is well on its way to completion. This is a nonprofit organization that only runs by donations. Each camp will have 13 houses for veterans and first responders and their families. Each camp will have 100 plus acres of land, with a fully fish stocked lake, hiking trails and recreational activities.
The next meeting will be on Saturday, April 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Colton’s Steakhouse in Rolla.
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 to promote Historic Preservation, Education and Patriotism across the United States. Noah Coleman’s daughters welcome any woman, who is interested in DAR to join us at our next meeting.
