The St. James High baseball squad traveled to Licking and were shut out by the Wildcats 19-0 Monday, March 30.
The Tigers had a 1-4 record entering this week’s action. This week St. James was to host St. Clair Monday, play at Salem Tuesday (4:30 p.m.) and open its Four Rivers Conference schedule at Pacific Thursday (4:30 p.m.).
March 30 - Licking 19, STJ 0: Licking, a Class 3 state champion three years ago with a Final Four finish two years ago, is off to another strong start with a 10-1 record entering this week.
Licking started early against St. James, getting two runs in the bottom of the first inning then putting the game away with a 17-run second inning. The game was stopped after three innings due to the run rule.
Licking’s Parker Huff threw a three-inning no-hitter. The Wildcats had five extra-base hits, including a homer by Jeff Sullins.
Junior Isaac Pearson and freshman Jaden Otto pitched for St. James.
