The St. James junior varsity boys’ golf team competed in the Potosi JV Scramble Tournament, Thursday, May 30.
The Potosi 2 team shot even-par to win the event while Potosi 1 was second with one-over.
The St. James 1 team was 21st at 15-over while the St. James 2 team was 24th with 19-over.
Par was 36.
The Tiger varsity squad was scheduled to play at Cuba Monday, April 27 but was rained out.
This week St. James is to play in the Four Rivers Conference Meet Monday at Sullivan and in the Class 3 District1 Tournament Friday at Bogey Creek in Farmington, which was formerly called Crown Point Golf Course.
Other schools in District 1 are host team Park Hills Central, Cuba, Dexter, Doniphan, Fredericktown, Herculaneum, Kennett, Maplewood-Richmond Heights, North County, Owensville, Potosi, Salem, St. Clair, St. Francis Barge, St. Mary’s South Side, Ste. Genevieve and Sullivan.
The top two teams will advance to District 1 to the Class 3 Sectional. St. James qualified its full team to the Class 3 State Tournament last year. And the Tigers are trying to send a full team or individuals to the state meet for the fifth consecutive year.
