Traveling exhibition to visit Crawford County Museum

Posted

A traveling exhibition titled “The American Revolution Experience” will be visiting the Crawford County Historical Society Museum in Cuba from March 19 to 26.

The pop-up exhibition is traveling to museums, libraries and historical societies throughout the country and will come to Cuba through a partnership between the Noah Coleman Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Ozark Patriots Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution and the American Battlefield Trust.

The exhibit will introduce visitors to an array of historical characters who had diverse experiences throughout the conflict and the places they visited on their journeys. It features display panels and digital kiosks that use storytelling, illustration, technology, artifacts and primary accounts to engage audiences.

“We’re always looking to bring new, innovative pop-up exhibits,” museum volunteer Kim Roedemeier said. “It’s geared towards education, information and appreciation of history. We’re happy to have anyone come through.”

The exhibit is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 12 to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

To schedule school, scout or other group visits of 10 or more people, call the museum at 573-885-6099, or call Viola Huitt at 573-259-2102. You can also email violahuitt@yahoo.com.
