STEELVILLE — Filing for Crawford County and Steelville board elections closes Dec. 30, with the Steelville Fire Protection District and Steelville R-3 School District still needing candidates to file for board seats.
Crawford County 911 Emergency Services Board has three open seats. District 1 incumbent Thomas Mounce filed for reelection, and District 2 incumbents William Harlan and Christina Barton have also filed for reelection. All filing with the first week of them being open.
Steelville Ambulance District has two open seats, and the two incumbents, Brenda Brooks and Larry Riegel, have filed for the election.
Steelville has had five people file for the open seats in the April 7, 2026, Municipal Elections. Incumbent Mayor Terry Beckham filed within the first week of the election filings opening and will run against Duane DeRennaux for the two-year term seat. City Marshal Mike Sherman, with a four-year term seat, and Alderman Ward 2 Lula Patterson, with a two-year term seat, have decided to run again to retain their seats. Incumbent Alderman Ward 1 Curtis Crouch filed this past week to retain his two-year term seat on the council, and is running against Harry H. Martin, who filed within the first week to run.
Steelville Fire Protection District has one seat up for election, currently held by Dale Hurd, with a six-year term. No one has yet declared for the seat.
Steelville R-3 School District has three seats open with three-year terms. No one has filed for a seat. Incumbents are Rachel Marin, Brad Brooks and Scott Perkins.
