Filing period closed on Dec. 30, for the April 7, 2026, Municipal elections that will name new seat holders on Crawford County and Steelville tax-funded boards.
Incumbent Dale Hurd filed this week to retain his seat with a six-year term on the Steelville Fire Protection District Board of Directors.
Steelville Ambulance District Board of Directors has two open seats. Incumbents Brenda Brooks and Larry Riegel filed to retain their seats.
Four municipal seats are open in the city of Steelville. Incumbent City Marshal Mike Sherman has filed again for a four-year term. Aldermen Ward 1 and 2 incumbents, Curtis Crouch and Lula Patterson, have filed again to retain their two-year term seats. Harry H. Martin declared within the first week of the filing period to run against Curtis Crouch for Alderman Ward 1. Terry Beckham, mayor incumbent, and Duane DeRennaux declared candidacy during the first week of the filing period for the two-year term mayoral seat.
Crawford County 911 Emergency Services Board had three people who declared during the first week of the filing period for the Board of Directors open seats. District 1 incumbent Thomas Mounce filed for reelection, and District 2 incumbents William Harlan and Christina Barton have also filed for reelection. Both Mounce’s and Harlan’s seats carry a four-year term, and Barton’s seat carries a one-year term.
Steelville R-3 School District has three seats open with three-year terms. Incumbents Brad Brooks and Rachel Martin have filed for reelection.
