Customers at the St. James McDonald’s will have the chance to support local families through donations to the Springfield Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks throughout the month of February.
The St. James location is participating in the 33rd annual Share a Heart Campaign. Customers can purchase paper hearts for $1, $5 or $20, and all proceeds will benefit the families of seriously-ill and injured children supported by the two Ronald McDonald House locations in Springfield.
With each donation, customers receive a red, pink or gold heart to sign their name on. Those who donate are encouraged to enter a social media contest by posting a selfie on Facebook with their heart(s) and tagging @RMHC.Ozarks for a chance to win one of four $250 Great Southern Bank MasterCard gift cards.
Over 17,400 families have benefitted from Springfield’s Ronald McDonald Houses, including 146 Phelps County families.
Annual operating costs for the Houses exceed $1 million, which is met by donations each year. The Share a Heart Campaign raised over $116,000 last year.
