My name is Ray Mortimeyer and I am considered a senior citizen.
I have been married for over 52 years. My wife and I have four children, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
I spent my teenage years and my adult life in Cuba. I served our country in the United State Air Force. I was educated in the Cuba public school district and attended college at the University of Missouri.
I have owned several successful businesses in Cuba and a few acres of commercial property. I also spent 20 years working for the U.S. Postal Service. Last, but not least, I have spent 42 plus years in public service as Mayor, Alderman and Senior Advisor to the city of Cuba.
In my 42 plus years of public service I have never made a promise. Those who make promises spend most of their time trying to explain why they couldn't keep them. City government is a very slow process and it takes time to get it right. Those who make promises to have immediate changes as soon as they are elected are unaware of the process of how government works.
My goals are very simple; give the citizens of Cuba the best of my years of knowledge, experience and wisdom and to make Cuba a better community to live, work and raise a family.
As alderman, I will represent you, the citizens, not my own interests, to make you and I proud to say we live in Cuba.
Thank you.
