The Sligo community seems to be doing okay after a lot of sickness. We just found out that Joanna's
grandson-in-law passed away Monday. He has been sick with cancer for a while, but the doctors had told him it was cleared. He was a young man in his early 50's. The family has our prayers. Our sister-in-law Marilyn passed last Monday also. My brother Bill went to get her up so she could go to work and found her laying on the floor. They don't know for sure what caused her death. She had not been sick and just was at the doctors for a checkup and everything was okay. Please keep the two families in your prayers.

The community finally got to have family night his month. It was good to be able to visit with everyone. We didn't have the Sligo Fest this year everyone missed it. It was always a great time seeing everyone and enjoying the corned beef and cabbage. We just didn't have the help to get everything ready. Maybe we can have our fall hayride in October. We had the event last year but didn't have the hayride because of the rain.

It is tax time and I can't seem to get everything ready to take to the tax man. Being sick this year, I didn't keep my filing up to date. Now I have a big mess doing it. I need someone to help me file all these papers and I can get it done in just a little while. Mel says he doesn't know how, but I can teach him if he would just help.

God bless America. Remember our troops and their families. Please continue to pray for our country and our leaders.
