The host Lady Tiger track squad finished second in the 18-school St. James Middle School Invitational, held Monday, April 13 at the St. James High track.
Union won the girls’ meet with 114 points while St. James was second with 91 and Owensville third with 60.
In the boys’ meet Salem easily won the team crown with 137.5 points while Bland was second with 63.33 and St. Clair third with 63. St. James’ boys were 16th with 3.5 points.
Highlighting the action for the Lady Tigers were first-place finishes from Kylie Stack in the 1,600-meter run at 6:16.52; Tara Murphy in the 100-meter hurdles at :17.55; Hattie Gruver in the long jump at 15-1 1/4; Jaida Denney in the triple jump at 32-2, and the 4x400-meter relay squad of Stack, Leightin Stubblefield, Denney and Murphy at 4:44.51.

In the girls’ meet Washington won the team title with 149.5 points while St. James was second with 90.5. Washington also won the boys’ meet with 99 points while St. James was 14th with 2.5 points.
Winning events for the Lady Tigers were Tara Murphy in the 100-meter hurdles at :17.71; Jaida Denney in the triple jump at 9.03 meters, and the 4x400-meter relay squad of Kylie Stack, Leightin Stubblefield, Denney and Murphy at 4:37.08.
