The St. James High Lady Tigers finished fifth while the Tiger boys were sixth in the 13-school field at the Hermann Track Invitational, held Thursday, April 23 at Hermann High School.
Centralia won the girls’ team championship with 144 points while Pacific was second with 104. The Lady Tigers were fifth with 52 points.

Centralia also won the boys’ team title with 140 points while Russellville was second with 108. St. James was sixth with 56.5 points.

The Lady Tigers won two events with junior Adalee Richardson having a hand in both, capturing the 100-meter dash at :13.26 and running a leg of the winning 4x200-meter relay squad, along with Anslee Stubblefield, Madalynn McCracken and Avery Campbell, in a time of 1:53.34.

Taking second places for the St. James girls were Campbell in the 200-meter dash at :29.21, and the 4x100-meter relay squad of McCracken, Campbell, Alex Hughes and Richardson at :53.56.

Leading the way for the Tiger boys were second-place finishes from Whitten Woessner in the long jump at 19-0 1/2; Aiden Boone in the triple jump at 40-11, and the 4x800-meter relay squad of Johnny Perkins, Kylar Hodge, Ashton Moreland and Ryder Byfield at 9:11.34.

STJ third places came from Woessner in the 100-meter dash at :12.14 and the 400-meter throwers relay squad of Mitchell Dekock, Caden Brown, Zane Achterberg and Preston Hash at :52.83.

This week the Tigers were to host the St. James Invitational Monday and compete in the Four Rivers Conference Meet Friday at New Haven.
