Verna Mae (Tourville)Edwards of St. Clair was born Aug. 31, 1939 in Washington, Missouri to Steve Tourville and Grace (Hopkins) Tourville and passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026 at the age of 86 years.
During high school she was very active in sports and was a setter in volleyball. She graduated from St. Clair High School and attended East Central College where she earned an associate’s degree.
On December 6, 1958, she married Richard A. Edwards in St. Clair, Missouri.
Verna and Richard were members at St. Clair Southern Baptist Church for many years.
She worked many manufacturing jobs around the Washington area including BorgWarner. She also worked at St. John’s Hospital in Washington as a receptionist for many years.
She enjoyed bowling with friends, crocheting, playing cards and games with family and friends. She loved boating and being on the lake, going out to eat and trying new restaurants, shopping, taking Corvette rides and visiting wineries in the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Steve and Grace Tourville.
She is survived by her husband, Richard A. Edwards of St. Clair, Missouri; two children, Tammy Edwards of Washington, Missouri and Richard S. Edwards of St. Clair, Missouri; one sister, Margret Rowden and husband Walter M. of St. Clair, Missouri; three grandchildren, Tiffany L. Rion and husband Alvin R. of Marthasville, Missouri, Allie Vaughn and husband Jerrell of St. Clair, Missouri and Steven Edwards of Bourbon, Missouri; five great grandchildren, Madicyn Rion, Randy Rion, Maycee Rion, Jett Vaughn and Jaxx Vaughn; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026 at Midlawn Memorial Gardens in Union, Missouri.
