My name is Chris Newcom, and I’m proud to announce my candidacy for Alderman of Ward 3 here in Cuba, Missouri. My wife and I have called Cuba home for more than 30 years. In that time, we’ve raised two wonderful kids—one now 24, the other 17—and built our lives in a community we truly care about.
For the past 27 years, I’ve worked at Meramec Instrument Transformer Company as a production planner. That role has taught me how to collaborate, build new ideas, and focus on continuous improvement. I plan to bring those same skills—along with business strategy and commonsense decision making—to the city council.
I’m not big on social media, and I prefer getting to know people face-to-face. These are exciting times in Cuba, with new developments taking shape. My goal is to ensure growth benefits both new residents and the longstanding community that made this town what it is.
I believe the city council should operate with accountability, solid bookkeeping, and true support for our public works and police employees. At the end of the day, different perspectives working together is what makes a council effective for the whole community.
