Arthur William Nevills was born September 10, 1931 in Lonedell, Missouri to Nicholas and Velma (Smith) Nevills and passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025 at the age of 94 years.
He married Okal Shoemaker on October 27, 1951 in Leslie, Missouri.
Arthur and Okal worked as a team tending their vegetable and flower gardens and then canning the produce from the vegetable garden.
He belonged to the Saddle Club for many years as working with horses was a joy for him. He also spent a lot of his life as a carpenter as he enjoyed building things.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Velma; sisters, Dora Lloyd, Lucille Welch and Pauline Thompson; and brothers, David, Charles, Cecil, Herb and Carl Nevills.
He is survived by his wife, Okal of Owensville, Missouri; son, Joseph Nevills and wife Susan of Highland Haven, Texas; grandsons, Dwayne Nevills and wife Carla of Webster, Texas, Gary Nevills and wife Anita of Staunton, Virginia and Kyle Nevills of Burnne, Texas; granddaughter, Wendy Pearson of Marble Falls, Texas; six great grandchildren; sister, IdaMay Sohn of Cuba, Missouri; sister-in-law, Bernice Stephens of Bay, Missouri; brother-in-law, Robert Shoemaker of Gerald, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.
Burial in Countryside Memorial Gardens.
