Betty Mae Sagel of Cuba, Missouri was born on Oct. 11, 1957 in Washington, Missouri to Sonny and Jacqueline (Deaton) Myeburger and passed away August 2, 2026 at the age of 68 years.
She married Albert J. Sagel on Aug. 15, 1981 at the First Baptist Church in Villa Ridge, Missouri.
Betty worked as a Medical Transcriptionist at St. John’s Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri and Phelps Health in Rolla, Missouri. She would later work for the State of Missouri - Department of Family Service as a Case Worker.
She was a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Her hobbies included sewing, crocheting and embroidery.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sonny and Jacqueline (Deaton) Myeburger; son, James Alan Sagel; and infant brother, Johnny Myeburger.
She is survived by her husband, Albert J. Sagel of Cuba, Missouri; one daughter, Christy (Robert) Mudge of Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kennth Mudge, Alan Mudge, Kaitlyn Mudge, Jay Mudge and Peyton Mudge; two great grandchildren, Curtis Mudge and Ollie Mudge; one brother, Jerry (Arlinda) Myeburger of Tulsa, Oklahoma; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at Mizell Funeral Home & Crematory in Cuba, Missouri with prayer service at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 6, 2026 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri with Father Mark Smith as the celebrant.
In keeping with her wishes, Betty was cremated following the funeral mass. Here cremated remains will be interred later at Holy Cross Cemetery.
